Sibest® on-board converters
Power-electronics components for on-board power supply provide the energy that is needed for the auxiliary equipment and the on-board facilities that promote passenger comfort. They must be reliable, lightweight and inexpensive.
The components can be used for new rolling stock as well as for upgrades of already existing vehicles. Depending on the conditions of use, they are cooled naturally, with forced-air cooling or are water-cooled. The completely type-tested items of equipment are designed with the latest IGBT technology and controlled by microprocessor control units from our Sibcos® family of products.
Sibmon®, our service and visualization software, supports the user in everyday operations.
DC choppers
The Super X chopper is a simple replacement for conventional control equipment with resistors, contactors or thyristors. It leads to an improvement in many properties of the vehicle, above all its economic efficiency. In many cases, use of this chopper improves the motoring and braking characteristics of a vehicle as a three-phase drive.
Electrical components
We supply ready-to-install, prefabricated and tested cable modules and equipment cabinets –suitable for installation inside or under the vehicle – as well as completely equipped and tested driver’s cabs for multiple-unit trains and locomotives.
