The function of the Transponder Location System Digiloc is to supply trains with a vital information of the train location. This transmission is based on magnetic coupling between a transponder that is installed on the track and a trainborne antenna. The location is obtained when the antenna that is installed underneath the train passes over a transponder. The information is transmitted as a specific message that is programmed in the transponder.
Power is remotely fed to the transponders and they do not require any interface with the other wayside equipment.
It is particularly suitable for subway applications.
