The modular Vicos RSC RailSCADA system from Siemens Transportation Systems integrates different SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) applications into one single control and monitoring system.
Vicos RSC interfaces with railway support systems, telecommunication systems, station facilities and traction power substations. It furthermore makes provisions for analysing online and historical data in real time and responds to event and alarm conditions automatically. Comprehensive control and monitoring functions and extensive decision support are provided for efficient and effective operation and control of the system. The integrated diagnostic function locates malfunctioning or failed system components and identifies them for maintenance or replacement.
Vicos RSC can monitor and control a multitude of different and independent subsystems. It is a universally deployable system for process visualisation and utilises object-oriented programming.
The standard hardware required for Vicos RSC facilitates integration into an existing IT infrastructure and keeps hardware costs to a minimum. Data exchange with other systems as well as the integration of Vicos RSC into multifunctional workstations via standardised interfaces can be done quickly and with minimum expenditure.
