The Combino tram, with its end-to-end low floor, was specially conceived for inner-city service on routes with small curve radii, short distances between stops and rapid boarding and alighting processes.
The Development
The low-floor design is a relatively new development which was advanced and promoted in the middle of the 1990s. When the Combino came into being in 1998, a vehicle which could be configured from a set range of modules was put into service for the very first time. more
