A country’s economic success calls for mobility and speed. We put both on rails.

A powerful, high speed network shortens distances within a country or continent making it a more useful and attractive complement to planes and cars. Moreover, as resources, such as energy and time, become increasingly depleted, the train of the future, Siemens’ high speed platform, the Velaro, synthesizes speed and comfort with economic efficiency for the operator.

Even in areas concerning infrastructure solutions we focus on modularity. Our Trainguard products exemplify our ability to offer all necessary train control components for the European ETCS standard levels 1 and 2. Trainguard’s advantage means that both vehicles and infrastructure can be equipped in line with individual requirements, even stages – also making them fit for the future. Numerous international projects prove our recognition as a partner for railway electrification. Take, for instance, the 950-km electrification project from Harbin to Dailan in China – the biggest in the world. Complete mobility.

Examples
Spain: Capable of traveling at 350 kph, the Velaro E is the world’s fastest production trainset. It easily makes light work of the 650 km between Madrid and Barcelona in two hours. So it’s not surprising that we have now also received orders for our Velaro concept from Russia and China. more
Germany: The high speed line linking Cologne and the Rhine / Main region has reduced travel time by more than half. Our contribution as a system partner: project management, interlocking technology, telecommunications, remote monitoring and electrification. more
Germany: As a market leader for electronic interlockings, we have modernized the most heavily traveled railway junction in the world, Frankfurt/Main, with state-of-theart signaling and interlocking technology – without interrupting ongoing operations. And this means we have strengthened that location as a gateway for crossborder traffic to France and Belgium. more
Netherlands: The HSL Zuid turnkey project underscores our competence in high speed infrastructures. The 100-km-long high speed line runs from Amsterdam via Rotterdam to the Belgian border and gives an insight into the future European high speed railway network. more
China: In this electrification project, the largest in the world with 950 kilometers of track from Harbin to Dalian, we were the component partner for the overhead contact line and the substations and were also responsible for project engineering and management. more
Belgium: In 2006, we were given the task of equipping 4,000 signals with components for the Belgian TBL1+ automatic train control system and the ETCS European train control system (Level 1), including planning and installation services as well as maintenance for 20 years. more
