For the first time in Germany, Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH had decided already to cooperate with Siemens Transportation Systems: in the year 2000 in the maintenance sector for vehicles and in the year 2001 in the infrastructure sector. In 2005, the joining of the service competencies followed: an associated company was created called IFTEC GmbH & Co. KG which bundles maintenance services for vehicles and track under one roof.

Another partner of Siemens Transportation Systems is DKS Dienstleistungsgesellschaft für Kommunikationsanlagen des Stadt- und Regionalverkehrs mbH (service company for communication equipment of municipal and regional transport). The service partner is a subsidiary of Häfen und Güterverkehr Köln AG, Kölner Verkehrsbetriebe and Siemens AG Transportation Systems.

We have successful partners also abroad: because of the increasing technical complexity of vehicles and rising requirements in terms of profitability, comfort, and punctuality the state-owned rail company Renfe has decided to joint venture with Siemens AG regarding the maintenance of 50 regional trains, which are deployed in Greater Barcelona.

Siemens Rail Services Pty. Ltd. in Melbourne is another subsidiary of Siemens AG Transportation Systems.
