New signal controller, C940ES, from Siemens with optimized signal monitoring for LEDs

The new C940ES signal controller from Siemens Mobility is from the C940 series of 40V LED traffic control units. The C940ES type of unit has a high safety level, namely SIL 3, and monitors changes in the behavior of the LED signals at the extremely frequent rate of 1000 times per second. The device is therefore especially attuned to the requirements for controlling 40V LED systems. Monitoring of hazardous signaling states takes place over two channels and is fail-safe in accordance with DIN VDE 8032-100.

Controllers are crucial components for the exchange of information between control centers, detectors and signal transmitters and must be able to do much more than just switch traffic lights from "red" to "green" and vice versa. The C900 family of units from Siemens is designed for maximum functional safety and reliability even under highly different conditions of use.
