"It makes me proud to tell New Yorkers that Siemens, in particular my team, is working to make the subway system faster, safer and more reliable."

Marsha Estrin, Commercial Project Manager, New York, NY, U.S.A.

I am the Commercial Project Manager for the CBTC Canarsie project in New York.

My responsibilities include contract and risk management, budgeting, cost controlling and monthly reporting to management. STS is developing a strong relationship with the NYCT, our main customer in New York, which will enable Siemens to win future projects.

The opportunity to develop the business locally is very exciting, and hopefully our progress in New York will provide new opportunities throughout all of the United States. The CBTC project is bringing new technology to the U.S..

The customer believes in this technology, and once this project has been successfully completed, the technology implemented on the Canarsie line can be used on other subway lines as well.

One challenge on this project is to achieve all that is contractually required of Siemens TS to the set deadlines, all while maintaining positive relationships and open communications with our customer, JV partners, and our team in Siemens France.

It makes me proud to tell New Yorkers that Siemens, in particular my team, is working to make the subway system faster, safer and more reliable.

Our team works day and night to move the project forward, everyone relies on everyone else to accomplish this task, and make this project a successful one for Siemens.
