Important research contact point The Wegberg-Wildenrath Test Center is an important component of the “Kompetenz Bahn NRW” national initiative. Being a member of the IRTC (International Rail Technology Center), we make our systems available to this initiative. In this context we also cooperate closely with the RWTH Aachen where a separate railway technology research focus point is being developed at present.

At a former airport The Wegberg-Wildenrath Test Center was established on the grounds of the Wegberg RAF military airport and is one of the most successful examples of how former military grounds in Germany have been successfully converted.
