Siemens Financial Services purchase trade claims and other types of claims from organisations of the Siemens Group as well as claims of third parties and manages them actively. The claim management remains with the claim vendor in the typically silent claim purchases we conduct. By help of the claim transfer accounted for in the balance sheet, the most important balance sheet characteristics are improved. The capital bound by the claims is released. Because of the size of our portfolio we can also purchase international and concentrated portfolios.

With our new middle-sized businesses program "ABS-Light^®" we offer our third party customers diverse standardised models of financing, which can be implemented quickly. Of course we also structure if desired a custom-made sale of claims.

We purchase claims of the Siemens units and convey them to a central credit portfolio management. To keep the risk costs at a minimum and to diversify the credit portfolio, we purposefully purchase, hedge, and sell credit risk by means of Credit Default Swaps and other products of the capital and derivative market.
